Vibrations – information and safety during use

Our treatment device uses controlled vibrations as an active and healing part of the therapy. The vibrations stimulate tissue, increase circulation, and are a central component of the therapeutic effect.

This product is designed for professional use and should be used according to the instructions. Hold the device with a firm but relaxed grip, and keep it out of reach of children.

Although our vibration levels are significantly lower than those of industrial tools – approximately 2.5–3 m/s² depending on the measurement method – the product is subject to the same warning label requirements as all vibrating tools. Therefore, we want to provide a clear but nuanced overview of what the vibrations entail.

Important to know:

 

• The vibrations are intended to treat the client. A smaller portion may affect the therapist holding the device.
• With prolonged and repeated exposure to vibrations, there is a risk of so-called vibration injury, also known as “white finger” or Raynaud’s phenomenon. However, this primarily applies to tools with significantly higher vibration levels than ours.
• The device may be used for up to 75% of working time, with regular breaks.
• If you, as a therapist, experience numbness, tingling, or discomfort in your hands or arms – take a break and contact your employer, occupational health service, or a physician.
• Inform the manufacturer if any problems or discomfort arise when using the M1.

 

Measurement data for our device (M1):

 

• Directly measured vibration level (ah): 3 m/s², uncertainty (K): 1 m/s²
• Weighted value according to ISO5349 using HAVS-protect sensor: 2.5 m/s², uncertainty (K): 1 m/s²

Table for calculating HAV points – acceleration versus exposure time

Use 3 m/s² as a baseline. Depending on the intensity of the treatment given, the value can be adjusted up or down by 1 m/s².

Note: Actual exposure can only be determined through real measurements using, for example, the HAVS Protect hand sensor. See link below the table.
